GESI meets climate mitigation: Closing the Facility’s 2025 training series

July 10, 2025

The Mitigation Action Facility is set to complete its comprehensive Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) training series in July 2025, marking a milestone in its commitment to inclusive climate action. Launched in April, the series has equipped both project implementation teams and technical experts of the Facility with practical skills to integrate GESI principles into mitigation projects, with a strong focus on intersectional approaches.

The training series was developed under the Mitigation Action Facility’s Gender Action Plan (GAP), and included specialised components on GESI analysis, commissioned by a pool of experts. This allowed participants to assess and address social inequalities in their climate mitigation efforts, covering thematic areas aligned with the Mitigation Action Facility’s priorities: transport, industry, and energy. The Facility further showcased its dedication to sharing knowledge and learnings beyond its project scope with the publication of a GESI factsheet, outlining how these efforts align with its broader mission to embed GESI principles both internally and across project cycles worldwide.

By bridging together gender equality and climate mitigation, the initiative ensures more equitable and inclusive solutions – a core priority of the Mitigation Action Facility as we continue working toward a low carbon future.
